What is Astrology?

Astrology is made up of two things “aster”, or star, and “logos”, or logic means “star logic”. Astrology is the only connection with the universe. We have sky above and ground below. Astrology is the connection of the patterns in the heavens with the happenings on earth. Astrology is the oldest sciences. Its origins can be drawn back to the beginning of the universe and it will be remain as long as the universe survives.

Astrology is the heart of astronomy. It begins where astronomy stops. Astrology is the language of the stars just like Universal language. Actually astrology is a science which is based on time. Every moment in time has a definite quality attached to it. As you born at a particular moment under the universe, you absorb the qualities of planets and stars present on that particular time. Your personal horoscope is just a streamlined map of the universe at the moment when you are born. Actually it is a guide map for our journey through time on the planet known as earth.

Astrology does not articulate any judgment. Just like nature, it does not create any good or bad effects. It just tells what was, what is, and what can be. Astrology does not tell anybody to depend on fate as a lot of people believe to be. In fact, it gives more stress on karma than fate. So the main aim of astrology is today’s “karma” and tomorrow’s “fate”. Astrology is not about burden to a painful hand of fate or destiny but all about achieving freedom through understanding and proper use of our free will. Astrology works only upon the nature’s law – “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

Our fate or present life is made up of our own actions which we have done in past and thus can be resulted only by our own actions in present. Astrology only tells us how to improve our present life by doing good karma. Astrology is the answer of the “why” many people ask themselves. Astrology works as a catalyst in our evolutionary journey. It can help us to learn the lessons with the minimum of trouble. Astrology tells us how to decrease confusion and increase clarity.

Astrology is comprehensive to all of us. It covers all the spheres of human existence. It is the root of psychology, healing and all other caring searches. It does not bias for any race, religion, gender, culture or nationality. It supports all the modern branches of science and even those who do not believe in it. Astrology is just like a tool for prediction the future. Astrology is the coordination linking the past, present and the future. So we can say that:

• Astrology is more about understanding than belief. In other ways it is a knowledge system not a belief system.

• Astrology is the key to understand of the workings of the Universal Mind.

• Astrology basically deals with realisation or it works on a physical level through the level of consciousness.

• Astrology is the only common link between all the current as well as the ancient cultures.

• So astrology does not say a certain event is going to happen. It only indicates that there is a certain probability of an event happening.

• Astrology is astonishingly correct. It can work correctly even on a daily or hourly basis if required.

Astrology is all about time. You note a wrong time and if astrologer uses it, predictions will go wrong. The moment you approach an astrologer is very important as well. Horoscope or the rashi chart is cast when a child is born. It has:

• Ascendant – that is, degree, minutes, seconds of rising sign in the eastern horizon at the place of the happening of the event as per time and date of the happening of the event.

• The planetary positions – that is, the degrees , minutes, seconds of the zodiac over which the planets are transiting at the time, date, and place of the happening of the event

The horoscope is a portrait which depicts how the individual is going to lead his life. No two humans are alike. Horoscopes may look same but there are several different minute differences which make each and every horoscope unique. It is true that in this world thousands of people take birth in two hours, and people born in nearby cities or even far away cities having time differences can have same Lagna Kundali.

But they certainly would not have same fate. Today, when birth rate has increased, it is very important to develop more advanced methods in astrology. This is lack of punishment given to those fake astrologers into the field. People who have some ideas about reading can sit down and give their observations. The problem based on it is that these people do not have so much knowledge of astrology and even the position of planet. Instead of being astrology, it is more like psychology. This is fake astrology.

Many people face challenges about astrology that is it real or fake and if it is real then it may have a lot of good points. The discovery of astrology has been from longer time, it have been come to existence before any religion. People who are really study the planets in relation to people; they have gained the knowledge of thousand and thousand years that has been passed out. It is obvious that this kind of information is invaluable to guess the future for anyone or anything.

There is lot of difference between astrology and psychics. But people do not understand it. As it is due to the fact that psychics also tell fortune telling readings and sometime they fall into astrology for these readings. Psychics also do many other things that astrologers do not do. They are just reading people and sys things based on what you say or how you react to something. If they are right then they often because you believe that they are right. People are blaming astrologers for their failed predictions. They doubt whether astrology is real or fake. It is not the astrology but astrologers who are at fault. It is the dogmatic and ritualistic way of the astrologers, which resulted in creating ambiguity in the minds of people about its effectiveness.

When you go to visit a doctor who does a false diagnosis, do you start believing that medical science is wrong or you simply look for another doctor? False prediction or error in reading only proves the astrologer wrong, not the field of astrology.
